Introduction to Content Marketing

Last week, I introduced you to the “full-stack content marketing” concept, where I shared its 5 fundamental pillars:

  • Content marketing

  • Copywriting

  • Video production

  • SEO

  • Graphic design

Today, I’ll share with you a quick intro to content marketing.

What is content marketing?

Content marketing is all about using content to attract prospects and convert them into paying customers.

Most content marketing activities include producing the following assets:

  • Social media posts

  • One-pagers

  • Blog posts

  • Case studies

  • Video productions

  • White papers

  • Ebooks

  • Web pages

  • Sales proposals

  • Pitch decks

And much more.

Basically, if it's a digital asset that's used to market to or inform your target audience, it's content marketing.

And as a full-stack content marketer, you must know how to create a variety of valuable content that resonates with your target audience.

Look at that list again.

You don’t want to be the person who gets asked “Hey, can you do this?” and answers “No.”

You want to be the person who says “Yes.”

Because you’ve not allowed yourself to “niche down” (What I believe to be complete cope).

You understand that content marketing is about delivering content.

And if you know how to create and launch many various forms of content.

You will become a highly paid, top performer.

What skills do you need in content marketing?

This is where Content Captains readers like YOU differ from any other kind of content marketer.

Because you know the drill—you need ALL the skills.

Most content marketers are good at one thing.

But I want you to aspire to grow beyond this mentality.

Because if your goal is to become the top 1% (the content marketers getting paid $165,000-$200,000/year) you need to learn it all.

I’m not asking you to become an expert at every single content marketing skill.

(I’m not sure I’m an expert at anything).

I’m asking you to know the basics.

And to connect the dots.

  • How can I use SEO to increase website traffic?

  • What kinda video content can I create for ad campaings?

  • How can I support marketing/sales emails using copywriting techniques?

Remember, you’re never gonna get paid for being a “strategist” or a “big picture person.”

You’re only gonna get paid (a lot) when you know how to get s*** done.

But don’t worry.

You’re not alone.

You’re already a Content Captains subscriber.

And that means you’ll always be supported in learning full-stack content marketing skills…

Which means you’ll always be ahead of your peers.

Ready to tackle big projects.

And to secure the bag.

See you next week,

Content Captains
